Three words you'd use to describe your area:
Diverse, Welcoming, Dynamic
What's your favorite local cafe or coffee shop and why?
Archtop Vinyl Cafe is located next to my office in Port Credit. I love to pop in for a coffee or tea and when I am craving a little more than lunch I get one of their incredible date squares to go.
You've got a dog lover visiting, where do you go?
There are so many leash free parks to choose from but a favourite walk for me with my dog was the walk through the Rattray Marsh trail. It is quiet and tranquil and a beautiful walk beside the lake.
You need a get-away-from it all escape, where do you go and why?
The Riverwood Conservancy is a great place to visit to visit in any season in Mississauga, Large open spaces to walk or picnic, trails to hike and gardens to view. I just love taking my camera here. There are so many walking and biking trails throughout Mississauga it’s hard to choose.
A foodie fanatic is visiting, where do you take them and what will you order?
Being a boater one of my favorite go to places for lunch or dinner is Snug harbour on the lake in Port Credit. I truly enjoy the beet salad with a sweet honey vinaigrette for lunch and for dinner the seafood bouillabaisse hits the spot. A special treat in the summer is sipping their Sangria on the open patio while watching the boats, kayakers, as well as the many people walking along the boardwalk looking at the ducks and swans in the rivers inlet.
You're filling a gift bag that showcases 3 - 5 of your favorite local goods, what do you include?
The butter tart gift box from Red’s at Square One, a houseware gift from Zest for Living in Port Credit, a pair of uptown socks from The Shop for All Reasons in Streetsville, a bottle of Canadian maple syrup and a assortment of craft beer from Stonehooker Brewing Company.
City explorers unite! Where would you take a visitor if you only had 3 hours to show off your area and why?
We would start our tour window shopping along Queen street in Streetsville, then would head to Square One and Celebration Square when in the summer there is always something happening.
After touring city centre we would head down to Port Credit and walk along the waterfront trail, past the lighthouse and settle for dinner at Papa Giuseppe’s for pasta or pizza.
Sporting teams can bring a community together - what teams do you love to cheer for?
Being so close to Toronto our true favorites are The Toronto Raptors, The Toronto Maple Leafs and The Toronto Blue Jays. Locally our Mississauga Steelheads.
How long have you lived in this incredible place? What brought you here and why you suggest someone else consider moving here?
Growing up in The Beaches was incredible as a kid, our family moved to the suburbs of Clarington when I was 10.
My first job took me to Oakville. My husband and I made a waterfront condo in Toronto our first home.
When more space was needed we decided to move to Mississauga, the proximity to the lake, access to highways, the closeness to the airport, the phenominal tree’s, the parks and trail made this an easy choice.
The neighborhood you call home and what you love about it:
Lorne Park/Port Credit has been our local neighbourhood since 1993. I really got to know all the streets in Mississauga since 2000 when I began helping clients, buy, sell and invest in Real Estate.
Even though we are in a big city, our area still has a small community feel. Being boardered by Lake Ontario provides endless outdoor opportunities.
